George A. Prescott was born on March 6, 1913, at Tawas City. A graduate from Western Reserve Academy and Michigan State University, where he received his A.B. in 1935, Prescott was elected to the state House of Representatives in 1966 and 1968. Prescott's grandfather, George A. Prescott was a state senator and secretary of state and his uncle, Charles T. Prescott, was a state senator.
